Two excavators, two tipper lorries set on fire

Two Excavators and two tipper Lorries are alleged to have been set on fire by seven people last night, police said. They said the vehicles parked within a tank being newly constructed near the Vilgam Vehera off the Trincomalee-Anuradhapura main road last night and that the identity of the miscreants were yet to be identified.Police said investigations had revealed that the men had assaulted the security guard and blindfolded him before setting the vehicles on fire.
The fire was put out by the Navy fire brigade with the help of the Uppuweli police. The damage caused has been estimated to be in the region of Rs.9.5 million. (Chaturanga PradeepDM-Online)
