The communication satellite,a joint venture of SupremeSAT(Pvt) Ltd and China’s state owned CGWIC was launched from XI-Chang Space Centre China, a short while ago.

It was scheduled to be launched last Thursday (22) but delayed due to the bad weather condition.

Meanhwile, the official Xinhua news agency said that China on Tuesday 'successfully" launched a European-made telecommunications satellite into orbit aboard a Chinese rocket.
it also said that The satellite, made by Thales Alenia Space, will provide telecommunications services for customers in Asia, Africa and Europe, the report said, but did not name them. The satellite had reached its proper orbit and was operating normally after being lifted aloft by a Long March-3B rocket which took off from a base in the southwestern province of Sichuan on Tuesday evening, Xinhua said. Thales Alenia Space, a world leader in satellites, is a joint subsidiary of French defence electronics company Thales which holds 67 percent and Italian aerospace and defence giant Finmeccanica which has the remaining 33 percent. China views satellite launches as part of its ambitious space programme.

This reminds me the birth of TV in Sri Lanka. When Ranil's Brother & two others brought a TV Transmitter to Sri Lanka the government of JRJ was unaware or KEEPING A BLIND EYE. The regulator (those days Director General of Telecommunications Office at posts and Telecommunication Department) had not issued a license and/or frequency to the transmitter by the time it was cleared from Colombo Harbor. Actually Sri lanka had to issue Channel 12 to the transmitter as it was tuned to that though the Channel was not internationally assigned to the country. After some months of operation government took over and SLBC was asked to do the operations.
