The Meteorology Department said today the showery weather prevailing in the country would be enhanced due to the influence of Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Thundershowers would be fairly widespread over the island during the afternoon and night.

It said heavy falls could be expected in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern and North-central provinces.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, The Met department said.
