Showers expected this evening

Showers can be expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and the Galle and Matara Districts this afternoon and evening, The Meteorological Department told Daily Mirror online. The highest rainfall for the past 24 hours was recorded from Avissawella area with 33.8mm being recorded while a rainfall of 14.3 mm was recorded from the Colombo area.
Thunder shower which were not prevalent in the island in the past few days also can be expected in the Uva and Eastern Provinces. (GS) (Daily Mirror online)
