A day ahead of the World Cup final, Sri Lanka have replaced injured allrounder Angelo Mathews with offspinner Suraj Randiv from their 15-member squad. Mathews' absence is a crushing blow for Sri Lanka, since he was a significant presence in the middle order, in addition to being a reliable back-up seamer.

Why Vaas was taken then? Same was done for Marvan in 2007 due to politics, Now Vaas has been trapped as well.

Guys! Nothing to worry! Still they didn't make 11 member team. As per ICC, You can't just swap players based on poor performance. all based on injury.Now murali and mathews injured. so, SL decided to swap mathews for randiv as murali wants still to play.No one else is injured than these two in 15. so, they can't swap anyone else for vaas to come in. i guess it will be thisara for mathews and randiv for Herath.

SELECTORS ONLT WANT TO SHOW THEY LIKE TO PLAY VASS. THAT IS WHY HE WAS JUST BROUGHT DOWN.
AT THE SAME TIME MURALY IS NOT 100% FIT. THEY USE RANDEV TO BOWL THE BALANCE OVERS LEFT BY MURALI WHOS IS NOT FIT TO BOWL 10 OVERS. CAUSE THAEY WANT TO PLAY MURALI AT ANY COST. AT THE SAME TIME THEY DONT WANT VASS TO PLAY.
ALL THESE AT THE COST OF MOST COVETED WORLD CUP.

Why not vass..? No use of having another spinner in the side instead of a fast bowling all-rounder. It's clear that vass is out due to politics within the players.
