Railways strike to continue as talks fail

The railways strike will continue tomorrow as well as talks between Transport Ministry Secretary Dhammika Perera and the Locomotive Operators’ Union failed for the second time today.

Locomotive Operators’ Union Secretary K. A. U. Konthasinghe told Daily Mirror that they were compelled to continue the strike as the talks had failed. However, he said, they expected to meet the ministry representatives again tomorrow for another round of discussions. (YP)
