POLICE Department in Sri Lanka. They are not guardians of the Law and Peace makers. They are thugs and malicious criminals in uniform.

Sri Lankan law enforcement can be easily bribed. As a result, Sri Lanka is lacking ability in delivering justice to victims of crimes

Kapila, You are right! The person indicated by DNA typing must have had political and/or police support!!!!
Csm Saturday, 30 May 2015 12:26 PM
In this case the evidence was convincing that the accused were not the murderer as proved by DNA testing.
CSM Saturday, 30 May 2015 12:24 PM
No not the judiciary they acted on the available evidence. The police is fabricating the case.
CSM Saturday, 30 May 2015 12:21 PM
I have followed this case. From the DNA evidence it is one man who is involved in all murders. A serial killer. Apparently a sex pervert . However the police is misleading the public and giving in to a high powered hand behind all these killings and also covering up the drug trade in the area.

It is the judiciary who should eliminate corrupt police officers who should be interdicted and charge in a court of law until proven not guilty.Thuggery and misuse of police powers too should be charged and punished in a court of Law. condemning the police for doing their duty should also be investigated and the reporters taken and questioned of the in accurate and false reporting. This what yahpalanaya should have done, but it seems that these investigations have made the country more unstable politically and the voters confused due to the sudden activities and actions of the judiciary with the police and the ruling politicians.

Sri Lankan Police consists of Murders, Drug dealers, Bar partners, Rapist, Bribe collectors and all kind of criminals. How can we trust them ?
kapila Saturday, 30 May 2015 07:57 AM
The case failed because police had used trumped up evidence to try to convict innocent men while it was evident by DNA evidence all the murders were done by the same man. Why fools in dailymirror could do some solid journalism?
Tony Saturday, 30 May 2015 07:51 AM
Why police was so incapable of investigations. No-one had killed them and these people have committed suicide; so people getting the message how Yahapalanaya going to be in future. Were these judges from Jayalalitha case?

If the scientific evidence didnt tally then whats the purpose of appealing via DM Android App
minimora Saturday, 30 May 2015 06:03 AM
I think police has no proper knowledge what they are doing. If those 3 people are actually innocent then there is no point of appealing again. Then police need to find the real killers without wasting time
Sonali Saturday, 30 May 2015 02:06 AM
If its " police’s inability to facilitate the case with sufficient and strong evidence" then they should shut down police stations. How do you trust a law enforcement agency if they cannot carry out a simple task as gathering evidence. Looks more like underworld against the poor.
mahen.siriwardena Saturday, 30 May 2015 01:38 AM
My own brother was one of the most senior police officers who was next to the then IG.Now, to blame the police for not having convictions in courts and seemingly endless culprits, whether, rouges, rapists et al get away because 0f 0ne reason. ie that the constable, a young rookie does not know how to make a proper entry, This is the fact. In the years gone by, the veteren officer took enough time to record the complaints correctly. The result was that 80% of the criminals got locked up and some for good. Now it is the reverse with 80% of offenders just get away as the case above

SL judiciary is the worst, most shameless, most corrupt, immoral judiciary in the whole world..
Premalal Friday, 29 May 2015 10:16 PM
Why and how could such an experienced police force so blatantly bungle such an important murder investigation should itself be fully investigated. It appears that the police were building a case on behalf of the accused.
Push Friday, 29 May 2015 10:09 PM
As long as rampant corruption prevails in the police dept. this kind of things cannot be prevented.
