Navy personnel killed in road accident

Two navy officials were killed following an accident with a container vehicle in Karuwalagaswewa area in Puttalam this morning, police said.

The victims were identified as Commander Priyantha and Lieutenant Commander Kaluthanthri by the navy.

The accident had occurred while the victims were traveling from Punewa Navy camp to Colombo while the container was heading from Colombo to Jaffna, police said. (Jude Samantha) (Pix by Hiran Priyankara jayasinghe)

    You cannot conclude who was at fault by looking at the pictures. The pictures show where the vehicles stopped after the collision, not where they were at the time of the collision.

    Couple of weeks ago high ranking army officer was also killed in the same area. Something should be done to discipline these drivers from armed forces.
