Pertinent question in need of the hour.Father preaches media ethics while failing to teach discipline to his son
Mahasonah Thursday, 04 July 2013 06:01 AM
This definitely is an international conspiracy with diaspora aid and the obedient son reminds me of "the boy stood on the floating deck when he but all had fled". Are all ministrial siblings either retarded or imbeciles? Had he been there, future CJ Daham Gamaralalage Sirisena also could have added better fun by taking a few snaps in nude at that altitude! Like fathers like sons aren't they?

Mr. Minister nobody said your son is a alcoholic. It appears that your haste in denying something that was not said, only proves it otherwise.
After all being a politician's son his behavior is understandable.
Pity the image of the country is being tarnished.
kumar perera Thursday, 04 July 2013 06:15 AM
This is what happens when uneducated thugs are sent to Parliament.Their children get (una)of the fathers. They should be punished.
Kusal Thursday, 04 July 2013 06:30 AM
See, 200 on board passengers has seen what this guy was doing. Father is using the same method of no..no..whenever he gives statement for journalist against the serious questions from journalists. There is no professionalism whenever he gives statements...like a joker
Mustha Thursday, 04 July 2013 06:31 AM
Yes, he travelled many time but when he drunk , he can not find the different between lavatory door and air craft door.
chula Thursday, 04 July 2013 06:41 AM
Hiruni, you can apply for the Minister's replacement when he retires as you are good in washing dirty clothes (Read the articles in UK news)
c.seneveratne Thursday, 04 July 2013 06:53 AM

Ministers' children follow their parents path..........
Seni Thursday, 04 July 2013 07:48 AM
So where are the other politically inclined sons in defence of Mr Rabukwella Jnr?
mithraya Thursday, 04 July 2013 07:49 AM
Hiruni, The moment you step into politics your are in Public EYE. So its the fathers responsibility to ensure the SON doesn't damage his image ( if he had one , of course). We all know what happened to the rugby referee as well!!. If this matter is swept under the carpert, You can call this the "Wonder of Asia"..:)

Is Thhis Minister Keheliya Rambukwela the same guy who fell off the balcony of a hotel In Australia?
Kiwi Friday, 05 July 2013 01:52 AM
Drunks are not always alcoholics.
M.O.A. Careem Saturday, 06 July 2013 01:57 AM
is a deal between father and son - what the country has to do on it - damage is damage..........
Rohana Thursday, 18 July 2013 09:43 AM
Mr. Rabukwella, rather than denying of your son's behavior, it is better correct him and educate him to become good son.
Take a example from our ancient story regarding King Elara, though he is Tamil king, he punished his own son for driving recklessly and killing a cow of a citizen. He didn't try to ignore the charge against him like present day politicians. You can see a son of present pradeshiya saba politico has shoot a fellow student. Is this is act of a descent citizen.
shanthapriya Thursday, 04 July 2013 04:29 AM
even my father was of the same opinion about me
narada Wednesday, 03 July 2013 03:26 PM

Gemba Wednesday, 03 July 2013 03:37 PM
Yes Minister, we know that. Ask the passengers in that flight, they have a different view. Children in S/L do not drink in front of their parents.
Punny Pellow Thursday, 04 July 2013 03:47 AM
Who said he was alcoholic?. The boy being a boy was drunk at that time, that is all!.
Crazy Coot Thursday, 04 July 2013 03:48 AM
Why don't you get all of them to kneel and apologise!!?
sach Thursday, 04 July 2013 03:49 AM
we dont care whthr u son is alcoholic or not, but he shamed the country he represented by indiscipline and action MUST be taken
Sunakaya Thursday, 04 July 2013 03:52 AM

@narada, (1)The BOY was wearing SL Cricket team T-shirt & represent SL (2) There is BIG differences in toilet door cabin door in every aspect (3) If the BOY can't recognize it means he is under liqueur, under drugs Or he must be a Blind. (4) The BOY behave depending on how brought-up by parents and school.

Hiruni Thursday, 04 July 2013 05:13 AM
just because a person was drunk in a flight- it doesn't mean he's an alcoholic.
However, there's that chance he would have put on his ministerial airs and the typical politicians- son, attitude.
But think about it, had this not been a "cricketer" or "politicians son" , none of this would be in the media for days nor made a big deal out of.
there's two sides to this story. There's no need for such prominence, as no damage was caused and no one was hurt, but perhaps the normal procedure.
OR
As the politicians kids always require special attention, why not give this prominence as it deserves too.
