While claiming that his son is not alcoholic, Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella had said that he had sought the British Airways report to get his son's name cleared regarding the incident on a British Airways flight.

Minister Rambukwella said, "I have sought the report from the airlines. As far as I know, there is nothing abnormal in the airlines report. My son is not alcoholic. Only to sensationalize the issue, the media has made it a issue".

"The cabin door and the lavatory toilet were hardly few feet away and my son mistakenly tried to open the door. The pressurized cabin door is not openable".

"It is not the first time my son has traveled in the aircraft. He has been to many countries with the Sri Lankan team and he knows the etiquette and how to behave in the aircraft". (Bipini Dani)

This definitely is an international conspiracy with diaspora aid and the obedient son reminds me of "the boy stood on the floating deck when he but all had fled". Are all ministrial siblings either retarded or imbeciles? Had he been there, future CJ Daham Gamaralalage Sirisena also could have added better fun by taking a few snaps in nude at that altitude! Hiruni, The moment you step into politics your are in Public EYE. So its the fathers responsibility to ensure the SON doesn't damage his image ( if he had one , of course). Mr. Rabukwella, rather than denying of your son's behavior, it is better correct him and educate him to become good son.
Take a example from our ancient story regarding King Elara, though he is Tamil king, he punished his own son for driving recklessly and killing a cow of a citizen. He didn't try to ignore the charge against him like present day politicians. You can see a son of present pradeshiya saba politico has shoot a fellow student. Is this is act of a descent citizen.

just because a person was drunk in a flight- it doesn't mean he's an alcoholic.

However, there's that chance he would have put on his ministerial airs and the typical politicians- son, attitude.

But think about it, had this not been a "cricketer" or "politicians son" , none of this would be in the media for days nor made a big deal out of.

there's two sides to this story. There's no need for such prominence, as no damage was caused and no one was hurt, but perhaps the normal procedure.
OR
As the politicians kids always require special attention, why not give this prominence as it deserves too.
