A man who lost a bet to the effect that UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara would not cross over, was detained by the Deraniyagala Police after he attempted to walk semi-naked (in his underwear) through the Deraniyagala town.

The man was arrested by the Deraniyagala Police. (Ranjanee Somachandra)

He has not betrayed his voters. He would have, if he crossed over in parliament, which he didn't. The UNP will appoint another person to replace him in parliament. Dayasiri is going back to the people for a fresh mandate.
