Man nabbed with gold biscuits

A 47 year-old businessman who was due to leave for Bangalore, India was nabbed by the customs at Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday when he was allegedly attempting to smuggle 12 gold biscuits worth Rs.10 million hiding them in his person.

The investigations had revealed he had flown to India frequently on business and had smuggled gold biscuits five times in this manner. (Deepa Adikari)
