Video: Heavy traffic due to protest march

A traffic congestion is reported from Borella to Maradana due to a protest march organised by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) over the electricity tariff hike, police said.The protest march was scheduled to reach to the Colombo Fort Railway station.
JVP MP Tilvin Silva told media outside the Fort Railway Station that they would continue their campaign against the electricity tariff hike despite the government’s attempts to sabotage the protests.
“We are always with the people. We invite those who ridicule our campaigns against the tariff hike to join us in this struggle,” Mr. Silva said. (YP & LSP)

JVP is fighting for everybody's benefit but if they win everybody can enjoy. If they loose only JVP suffer. That is the reality.

Although m not a JVP supporter I thank them for this demonstration. Even though I was stuck in traffic for over two hours.

Let us all support them by withholding the payment of electricity bills until it is been revised........Let us show and remind the government of peoples power...
