Fake fishermen nabbed

The Sri Lankan Navy nabbed the trading of ganja from India to Sri Lanka by a group posing off as fishermen in the deep sea off Pesalai. It is suspected that the Lankan fishermen who obtain permission for fishing in the secured areas enter the deep sea and deal in the purchase of ganja strictly on cash basis.

The Navy arrested a fisherman who was in possession of 15Kg of Ganja from Pesalai and was handed over to the Thalaimannar police. (Ajith Lal Shanthaudya)
