An underworld figure known as ‘Bomba Sira’ was assaulted to death early today by an unidentified gang on the railway track near the Ratmalana railway station, police said.
The 57 year-old victim, who was a father of one, died on admission to Kalubowila hospital. The Mt. Lavinia police are conducting inquiries to arrest the suspects, who have fled the scene after the incident. (Kusal Chamath)

He is 57 years old. Has he been in active service or was he an old school chandiya with a dangerous name (name only)? Not knowing his background I wouldn't say anything; he may well be a victim (or may not).
