A bomb containing 10 kilograms of high powered C4 explosives was recovered by the police on Wednesday evening (8) from an abandoned well in the Banagala Estate  in Kotadeniyawa.

The workers of the estate who were cleaning the well had found the suspicious object in a bag with a wire attached to it. The bomb disposal unit of the Mirigama Air Force Base diffused the bomb. They said the bomb connected to a battery was in a waterproof case similar to a briefcase. (Pushpakumara Mallawarachchi)
