Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott had credited Sri Lanka for its successful implementation of the LLRC recommendations and its ability to maintain a 7.8 per cent GDP growth.

“The fact that the LLRC is going so well is a credit to you,” Prime Minister Abbott told the President when they met in New York.

Mr. Abbot has said that it was a remarkable achievement of Sri Lanka to maintain a 7.8 per cent  GDP growth with the potential of it increasing further before the end of the year.

At a cordial discussion that took place on the sidelines of the 69th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the two leaders caught up on a range of matters of bilateral interests.

President Rajapaksa briefed the Prime Minister on recent developments in Sri Lanka in the economic and development sectors as well as ongoing reconciliation work.

The two leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

“I am so grateful for the help that Sri Lanka has given,” Prime Minister Abbott told President Rajapaksa referring to Sri Lanka’s assistance in dealing with the people smuggling issues.

Are there boat refugees still going to Australia from SL? When the boat refugees stop, Abott will also stop.

Mr. Abbott do you know what are the LLRC recommendations that have been implemented. Hardly anything worth has been implemented. Check your facts before you talk, you'll otherwise not last the next time around.

I thought the Llrc has been abandoned long time ago.
