Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said today that he would resign from his post if the elections for the Provincial Councils were not held before November 10.
He told a news conference that he would take this decision in protest of the delaying of PC polls for two years.

Not November 2019...Polls for the Overdue Provincial Councils should ideally be held within 03 Months. That is Democracy.Applies to all other future Elections as well. Timely Elections.

Another fake threat in line of Sillysena's empty, idle "I will resign" threats.

If "Chairman of the Election Commission" doesn't have the power to determine the date for the election and if he has to count on the politician for the date, why call himself a Chairman? All these phony meaningless titles to deceive the people and the world. He shouldn't have accept the post in the first place.

a president appointing a prime minister like it happens in all other countries is undemocratic. Government only holding elections that are favorable to them is democratic. This is how the powerful western countries and their puppets think.
Missaka Monday, 28 January 2019 02:02 PM
Don't worry Mr. Chairman, our PM will decides when to keep elections after disbursing some perks to masses.
