Sinopharm vaccine will not be given to Lankans until safety ensured: Pavithra

China’s Sinopharm vaccine will not be given to Sri Lankans until the safety of the vaccine was ensured by the health authorities, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said.
She told Parliament that Advisory Committee on Communicable Diseases and the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) have been analyzing the data on the vaccine to ensure the safety of the vaccine.
She said only the Chinese nationals are given the vaccine at present. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

Regarding the safety of the vaccine should have been obtained from NMRA prior to importing. Now there can't be a decision from "yes" to NO and NO to YES.
