Rains likely in Western, Sabaragamuwa provinces

Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Mannar, Trincomalee and Puttalam districts, the Department of Meteorology forecast today.

It said the low-pressure area in the Gulf of Mannar sea area was likely to weaken further and hence, the influence of this system to the island was expected to be gradually reduced.

“Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places elsewhere after 2.00p.m,” it added.
