Deepening the political crisis, President Maithripala Sirisena has told the UNP yesterday that he would permit the SLFP MPs to vote according to how they feel about the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He said this when he chaired a meeting of party representatives ahead of the no-confidence motion and vowed to reconstitute the Cabinet tomorrow no matter what the outcome of the vote would be.
At this meeting Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said it was the SLFP stance that the Prime Minister should step down. (Kelum Bandara)

For My3, no action is good action. As he has governed the country so far.
Kiruban Gnanamanicam Wednesday, 04 April 2018 09:21 AM
Yes My3 or RW has not done anything even 5% of what MR did for our country.

In way it is good. The president is allowing the country to see who are the real corrupt and want to drag the country down thedrain

Do you have any say in your party as a leader ? You have no leadership quality like Mahinda .Then who will listen to you who have betrayed the same people who posted you as the President while there are legal ways for punishment leaving your part men go scotfree.

An excellent and responsible solution. Now why could he not make firm and sensible decisions for other extremely important questions hanging over the head of his Motherland?? Better late than never. MM

JO seems to be losing though PM should have lost. Intents and purposes are political.

All this look like a master plan by Jehan Fernando of Koombiyo, advising the PM how to gain power in 2020. Jehan must have started with Range by proposing this NCM.

We do not want a stooge like Hon. Nimal to be anytime the Prime Minister. He will be used as the ouster tool to get rid of the present Speaker and then the President. to bring back the notorious CROOKS. The whole problem is that HE Maithri made the mistake of becoming the leader of the SLFP , though brought to power with majority of the UNP voters.Let us have UNP majority cabinet with others who are only willing to toe the line.

Winning at all costs. Ask Smith

SLFP members must take a strong decision to remove Ranil from his seat. As long as Ranil survives, he will cover up all the thieves and save them. For sure he has deals with MR (almost everyone knows)
R.M. Leelaratne (Lawyer) Wednesday, 04 April 2018 09:26 AM
SLFP should stand firm and kick off RW from his chair tonight. (this is the public request)
Kadupol Jothywansa Wednesday, 04 April 2018 09:29 AM
Hon. President - now take the sword and cut off Ranil, that is the good thing you could do, if you want to survive in your position.
