The Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) secured 7,634 votes in Jaffna electorate of the Jaffna District while EPDP came in second with 5,545 votes. The Ahila Ilankai Tamil Congress (AITC) secured 4,642 votes while the SLFP received 1,469 votes.

IT is two languages, two cultures, two ethnicity, two major religion ,two cultures, two different land mass. This cannot be changed . Thus ultimately it has to two states in one country. Ask the British. We will have this debate for another century right upto the life of the last Tamil and Sinhala man
