Expressway; Local media denied coverage at opening ceremony

The local media was not allowed to attend the event held at Matara - Godagama in connection with the ceremonial opening of the Matara - Hambantota Expressway. Officials of the Presidential Secretariat had told the media personnel that only foreign media is allowed to cover the event and not the locals.

The media personnel gathered at the Godagama access road were sent away from the place.(Krishan Jeewak Jayaruk)

    Yes, the did not want the super luxury vehicles photographed. Nice. The event was for the grass eating loins in the south and not for the educated in other parts of the island.
