While saying that they have finalised a list of those who need to be vaccinated first, Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva said all the necessary steps have been taken in respect of COVID-19 vaccination.
Accordingly, vaccines will be given to frontline workers who are engaged in efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Commander said after the vaccines have arrived at the Katunayake airport from India and would be transported by the Army to be stored in Colombo.
"Thereafter, the task force under Lalith Weeratunga will handle all the procedures with regards to transporting them to other vaccination centres and storage," Gen. Silva said. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
