Business magnate Dhammika Perera was non-committal and did not reject speculation that he would come forward as a common candidate at the next Presidential election.
When questioned after an event in Colombo about speculation in social media, Perera said: “We have to develop the country. For the question you asked let’s see what happens in the future."
When asked whether these stories were wrong, he said: “I think I should not comment on them at the moment.”
When asked whether the people would be able to keep hopes of something outside traditional politics, he said:
“The public are more knowledgeable than anyone now. Therefore I don’t think anyone would be able to play games with the public in the future. Therefore, no one would be able to come forward in the future without having solutions to develop the country. Now with the social media, the public is more knowledgeable. Therefore I think the future will be good.”

AND RANIL IS SAID TO BE PUTTING YOUR HEAD, IS IT CORRECT.
Anpanman Thursday, 23 May 2019 12:20 PM
As NDT graduate myself from which course he dropped out he is the most suitable candidate for Sri Lanka President. I know my knowledge is a lot better that any a MSc and Phd in my field where I excelled in a multinational company based overseas. Dhammika should come as a independent candidate (not a so called common candidate) with an educated team to back him. Then I shall vote for him. Bottom like "No Ranil behind".

Some of the most successful corporate leaders don't have ndt, ba or mamba or anything. The ones who's qualifications surpass the name and designation has been the cause of failure for most private sectors.

Well i would say he is a suitable candidate, but will the Maj bisons vote him, i would actually choose him

unlike ranil, mangale, ravi, sirisena, mahinda, gotha karu, premadasa,he would be the best to develope s.l. in a meanfull way.he knows his economics, and economic development and in my opinion not corrupt, and wont sell s.l. to foriegners and the minoritiees,,like ranil and the unp just for Investments.unfortunately the sinhale Buddhists are more interrested in a sinhale Buddhist Country .and in a Person who will never allow s.l. to be puppets of the minoritiees and the western Christian developed world.hence he wont have a Chance against Gotha.it is very unfortunate.
NO DAMN THINKING (NDT) Thursday, 23 May 2019 01:34 PM
Mr Anpanman - don't beat your NDT drum ., NDT knowledge is NOT "a lot better that any a MSc and Phd" . NDT cannot match up with those qualified higher (ie even BSc or MSc etc) when it comes to analysing (problems) or doing research . Remember the age old saying "empty vessels make the most noise." - which your NDT would have missed out teaching you.

Is he a fish caught in the net by RW to manipulate as he wants? Never with RW sir to ruin the country. UNP has no its candidate or what?
Manu Thursday, 23 May 2019 02:47 PM
RW will ask Dhammika Perera to promise that he would be made PM ifnhe becomes the President. This is RW's magic stick to be PM again. I don't think RW can fool the people every time.
Manu Thursday, 23 May 2019 03:01 PM
I am sure SLFP, SLPP and UPFA will join hands to to defeat UNP and magic stick of RW, Dhammika Pererac and stop UNP coming to power at the next election.

Truth Thursday, 23 May 2019 04:50 PM
I will go with anyone applies the law in SL equally to everyone . That's the only way that this country will move forward. One law for the robed terrorists, one for LTTE and another for ISIS terrorists.. Rest assured we will be at the same place if the LAW IS NOT EQUAL TO ALL CITIZENS.
