Clinical tests have confirmed that the syrup introduced by Ayurvedic practitioner Dhammika Bandara is not a cure for the COVID-19 virus.
Accordingly, the special committee appointed to review the syrup has suspended further investigations into it.
The committee is of the opinion that it is extremely unlikely that the syrup would produce positive effects.
The Health Ministry appointed a special committee to review the syrup after Dhammika Bandara started distributing the syrup to people in Kegalle on several occasions.
The syrup also got the administrative approval to conduct research on it in January this year following the Ethical Committee of the Rajarata University granted ethical clearance to the syrup on December 30, 2020.
Moreover, several Ministers, including Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi and several MPs had also taken a sip of the syrup.
However, Minister Wanniarachchi and State Minister Piyal Nishantha later tested positive for COVID-19. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

The only people who can determine the efficacy of any medicine either pharmaceutical or indigenous are SCIENTISTS AND MATHEMATICIANS. The former looks into the Biology and Chemistry involved in the make up of the “cure” ,and the latter uses the proportion of the people who remain resilient after the treatment and input the number into increasingly sophisticated Mathematical formulas to come to a conclusion. But the committee appointed by the Minister to examine this syrup are all doctors, WHAT DO THE DOCTORS KNOW ABOUT SCIENCE OR MATHEMATICS ?

Bandara does not care. He already made a lot of money giving poor people false hope. He probably is laughing his head of right now.

This is the bigger joke for the century/ The " Health Ministry Appointed a Committee" to review the syrup. What a shameless Minister of Health, Prime Minister and Nandasena. I thought this joke was over months ago.
