The efforts made to pave the way for the former Number One to enter the Diyawanna council have gone haywire, they say.
In fact, the former Number One had already sounded several party’s national list members about his intention to resume his Diyawanna career, but none of them had heeded the message he had conveyed. So, he had asked point-blank a member whom he himself had nominated to resign to make way for him.
The former Number One had first asked the flamboyant one from Badulla and the latter had turned a deaf ear even when he was offered a post of a governing one as consolation. Thereafter, he had turned to Bandara whom he nominated for the second time. He too had ignored the request.
Highly disappointed former Number One has now decided to concentrate all his efforts to revive the moribund Blue party, they say.
