Global Village organised by AIESEC at the University of Colombo is a spectacular cultural festival that puts together a colourful celebration of cultural diversity and inclusion annually. This year, Global Village 2020, plans to bring yet another multi-cultural experience to students all over the world as a virtual engagement, focusing on cultural connectivity and world awareness.
AIESEC at the University of Colombo is one of the pioneer local committees operating under AIESEC in Sri Lanka with the vision of achieving peace and fulfilment of humankind’s potential through cross-cultural exchanges. Likewise, they provide the youth with opportunities for leadership development through volunteering, interning and entrepreneurship training.
Global Village 2020, being organised for the 5th consecutive time, brings its audience a twist this year with the addition of two mini events namely; Spotlight Fight 2020 and Global Village - Scavenger Hunt. Spotlight Fight 2020 is a virtual talent competition open for any passionate young individual to showcase their hidden talents. Global Village - Scavenger Hunt is another exciting mini event exclusive to local and international AIESECers. Preliminary rounds of these mini events commenced in July and will be followed by the final round on the day of Global Village 2020.
Global Village 2020 will be held on the 15th of August 2020, and will be live streamed via the AIESEC Sri Lanka Facebook Page, Lankadeepa Facebook Page, Daily Mirror Facebook Page and Tamil Mirror Facebook page - from 7.00 pm (+5.30 GMT) onwards.
