There have been 18 COVID-19 cases detected from Colombo City, which has resulted in 384 persons being sent on quarantine, Chief Medical Officer, Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni said yesterday.
Dr. Wijayamuni said these 18 cases were reported in the city since the break out of the disease and said there were instances of six members from one family and four persons from one household getting infected.
There was one more case where two from the same household were infected.
“Six more cases have been found on a scattered basis,” Dr. Wijayamuni said.
“The wife, son-in-law and two grandchildren of the person who was found with Covid-19 at Arnold Ratnayake Mawatha had also been infected by the disease and had been sent on quarantine,” he said.
Also, 354 persons from the neighbourhood from the person in Arnold Ratnayake Mawatha have also been sent on quarantine according to Dr. Wijayamuni.
