To bear a child is the most sacred act a woman can perform in her life and a female carrying her child in her womb is treated with utmost respect and care by society. It is important that a mother should be well nourished and be mentally at ease at all time and specially during her pregnancy.
That is the very reason why Deshamanya Dipika Damayanthi, the proprietoress of Dipika Resort Mirissa and founder of the Dipika Damayanthi Foundation, performed a most meritorious act by helping the pregnant mothers of Aparekka have peace of mind by listening to a dhamma sermon and chanting of stanzas by the sangha. Each of them was also presented with a gift pack containing nutrients and utensils.
The programme held at the family health clinic in Aparekka was attended by more than 60 pregnant mothers.
