Skipper Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga and Asela Gunaratne are expected to return to the island by May 10 to join the national squad who will be training in Kandy in preparations for the Champions Trophy in June in England.

Mathews plays for Delhi Daredevils while Malinga and Gunaratne are part of the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League Tournament but will miss a better part of the lucrative T20 league due to their national commitments.

Sri Lanka Cricket has only issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) till May 10.  The national team will leave the island on May 18 for a two-week training in England prior to the tournament which begins on June 1.
