Two men arrived in a motorcycle wearing full face helmet had robbed Rs.40 million worth cash and jewellery from a financial institution in Gampaha yesterday, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the Gampaha Police are conducting investigations into the incident and that five police teams were deployed.
He cautioned there is a tendency of increasing such crimes and urged owners and officials of those institutions to take precautionary measures to prevent such incidents.

The current desperate situation and crippling economy is the cause for this increased crime trend. Very soon the educated, respected and even graduates would go in path of crime and commit robberies and thefts to simply survive.
