While saying that US stand with all families who have lost loved ones to this Covid-19 pandemic, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina B. Teplitz said their rights and dignity should be respected by permitting the observance of their faith in accordance with international public health guidelines.
“Ratified by Sri Lanka in 1955, UDHR Article 18 states that everyone has the right to manifest their religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, & observance. COVID created global challenges, but it should not cost us our compassion and respect for one another's beliefs,” she said in a statement.

Rifdhi, you are very right. All what Christians and Muslims want is to bury their loved ones. Nothing more. But most people don't listen carefully and only want to hear what they want to hear.

I respect the U.S. Ambassador for her statementt but the Head of a certain religion in our country is silent on this subject going against the Bible.

So is that why Trump banned Muslims entering US so you don't need to be in that situation. and which UN convention did you breach there. Sri Lanka be warned, this is a precursor to what's coming under Biden, there will be weekly press releases from the embassy like it used to be !!!
