A 38-year-old businessman was killed when three gunmen who arrived on two motorbikes opened fire at him in Mulleriyawa last night, police said.
They said the shooting incident took place at Ranabima Mawatha in Mulleriyawa.
The businessman died after he was admitted to the Mulleriyawa Hospital.
Police said the victim was shot at when he was reversing his cab vehicle into the car park at his home.
One of the gunmen had open fire at the businessman and fled the scene on a motorbike which had been parked near the main door of the businessman's house.
The businessman was identified as Gamage Dannila Wasana Suranga.
Mulleriyawa Police are conducting investigations.
