Under the new normalcy and following health guidelines, we have to live with coronavirus for another two or three years, the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) said.
GMOA Editor Dr. Haritha Aluthge said COVID-19 has become a global pandemic. So we have no escape from this situation.
"We can't even think of escaping this marauding threat at this crucial period of time, where the entire world is faced with an uphill task to keep the virus spread at bay," Dr. Aluthge said.
Even the World Health Organisation (WHO) is unable to predict a time period to eradicate this virus.
New COVID-19 vaccines are on the way, but they may or may not help us to live a life as we did prior to 2019, Dr. Aluthge said.
However, we should follow the basic health guidelines to protect ourselves from getting infected, than searching for a cure, he added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Global pandemic - we have been waiting in suspense for the GMO(Trade Unionist) editor to utter these dooms day words. Just wear a surgical gown and earn your bread by getting into the field of healing instead of preaching 'bana'. Damn hypocrite.
