UNP MP Kavinda Jayawardana today stepped down from the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to look into Easter Sunday attacks saying he wants to focus on the affected people and that the decision has nothing to do with the no-confidence motion.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the MP said he wants to focus fully on the welfare of the people who were affected in the Easter Sunday attacks.
“I wrote to Speaker excusing myself from the PSC citing personal reasons. I want to dedicate my time fully on the people who were affected in the attacks. In this context, I may not be able to focus on the PSC,” he said.
When asked if the decision has anything to do with the no-confidence motion (NCM) brought against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, the MP said it was not.
“This has nothing to do with the no-confidence motion. I want to focus fully on the affected people. I will still make suggestions and quarries, which I have, to the PSC. I request the Speaker to appoint someone who can dedicate fully to the PSC on my behalf,” he said. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

Makes no difference. A man who talks with no substance.
