Five individuals including a lawyer who were arrested for allegedly obtaining suicide bomber Mohammad Ibrahim Insaf Ahmed's Flower Road residence by using a forged deed, were ordered to be remanded till September 28 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Court
When the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Magistrate that five individuals had been arrested with regard to the matter and that they were detained and interrogated under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
Mohammed Ibrahim Insaf Ahamed was the suicide bomber who blew himself up at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel during last year’s Easter Sunday attacks.
The CID further stated that investigations had revealed that a group of individuals had used the suicide bomber Mohommad Ibrahim Insaf Ahmed’s residence for several activities.
According to the statement given by the first suspect, he had stated that he purchased the property from Mohammad Ibrahim Insaf for Rs.100 million.
The CID stated that an investigation was carried out based on the statement issued by the suspect and it was revealed that the deed had been forged.
Senior Counsel Asela Rekawa, Counsel Nirmal Kodithuwakku and Jeewantha De Silva appeared for the first suspect. (Yoshitha Perera)

These types of rackets are still going on. Many people have become criminals to such addiction and even encroaching becoming more of an habit , due to lethargic action or the law been complicit to it.
