Cabinet approves proposal to ban cattle slaughter

The Cabinet has given approval for the proposal to ban cattle slaughter in the country, Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

He said that and legalising the decision would be continued in due course.

He said the approval was given to amend the two already existing Ordinances relating cattle slaughter.

    Wholeheartedly support. Government should fully implement the wildlife conservation and the punishment of violators with hefty fines and prison terms. We have lots of exotic wildlife meat eaters have arrived in our Island, it's imperative that government take care these magnificent animals NOW!.
