22 protesting undergrads arrested for violating court order

Twenty-two university students including the convenor of the Inter-University Students' Federation (IUSF) Ven. Rathkarawwe Jinarathana Thera were arrested for protesting outside the University Grants Commission (UGC), for violating a court order, the Police said.
 
Police Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratna said the Cinnamon Gardens Police arrested the students, including two monks this morning.
 
They had violated the court order and were protesting in front of the UGC causing inconvenience to the general public, he said.
 
The arrested students would be produced in the Court.

    The IUSF should be banned by court for the various convictions of damage to public property and assaults on junior students.

    Violating court order is contempt. Give them a long jail term so that it will serve a deterrent for all students
