Following the questioning of Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) of the Palai Hospital, police yesterday recovered of a stock of weapons and ammunition from the Karandiya area in Palai, the police said.
Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said the 41-year-old JMO, Sinniah Siwaruban was arrested by the Army in connection with his alleged involvement in terrorist activities.
The Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) officers recovered one AK-47, two magazines, 120 live ammunition, 11 hand grenades and 10kg of the PE-10 explosive from the Karandiya area in Palai.
The suspect was a resident of Chavakachcheri in Jaffna.(DSB)
