President Maithripala Sirisena has taken steps to set up a National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) to look into matters of national security.
SLFP MP Sarath Amunugama will function as the Chairman while President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa, Nigel Hatch, Attorneys Javid Yusuf, Ram Manikkalingam and Suren Ragavan are the other members.
The President said the NSAB would strengthen the process to ensure national security by expressing its views and suggestions in an impartial manner. He said this when the Board was convened yesterday under his patronage before leaving to Britian on a private visit to attend his son Daham’s graduation.
