All temporary residents in Colombo and its suburbs must register with the nearest police station, Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon said.

“At least 41,000 temporary residents at 61 Grama Seva Divisions in Colombo registered with the police over the weekend. Those who have not been included in the electoral registry should register with the police,” he said.
Speaking to the media after a raid on an illicit brewery at a rented house in Dompe, he said he expected to create a database for temporary residents.
