An islandwide curfew will be imposed from 08:00  p.m. today to 05:00 a.m. on May 4, President’s Media Division said. Earlier, such a curfew was in place only in the Western Province and the Puttalam District.

All payments including public assistance monthly allowances, elders’ allowances, farmers’ pensions and other pension payments will be paid through post offices as usual.  The public could also pay their utility bills, make local electronic currency transfers and hand over letters and parcels for local and international postage.  The Postmaster General has requested public to follow health advice when visiting post offices and obtaining services.
