Body of sergeant found with signs of injuries

The body of a police sergeant attached to the Valachchenai police was recovered at Mullamunai in Vavunathivu last morning, Police Media Division said.  

It said the deceased aged 55 had been identified as a resident of Mungar, Batticaloa. His body with signs of injuries, was found following an anonymous telephone call received by the police.   Police said there is a land, belonging to the victim near the place where the incident took place.
