The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the itinerary for Sri Lanka's tour of India later next month on Tuesday (October 3).
Team India had recently toured the Island nation for a long series and now are set to welcome them home in a tour that features three Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and as many Twenty20 encounters.
The series kicks off on November 16 in Kolkata, before which Sri Lanka will also play a three-day warm-up match.
The three Tests will be played in Kolkata, Nagpur and Delhi, while the ODI series will begin on December 10 in Dharamsala and subsequently moving to Mohali (December 13) and the last tie schedule to take place in in Vizag on December 17.
There have been question over the ability of the Nagpur pitch to hold a 5-day match after it was given a 'poor' rating by the ICC during the South Africa series in 2015. But, considering the venue’s newly laid surface handled the fifth ODI between India and Australia on Sunday (October 1), the BCCI will not be as worried about the venue being scrutinized by the ICC again.
Then comes the shortest format of the game, with the first of the three T20Is to be played on December 20 in Cuttack before moving to Indore (December 22. The tour concludes in Mumbai on December 24. Thiruvananthapuram was earlier supposed to host one of the T20Is against the Lankans, but will now host New Zealand for a T20I on November 7 after the board opted to swap the fixture with Cuttack.
