A A A

The town of Weliweriya resembled a war zone today as buffle vehicles and army personnel patrolled along the roads that were tattered following yesterday’s violent clash between the military and the villagers. The clash resulted in the death of a 17 year-old school boy and injured dozens of others. Pix by Kushan Pathiraja

Its very sad...that the Army had converted a peaceful rally to a WAR Zone....those are the people who prayed for them & made the as national heroes , ironically they went in to the same church & attacked them.

WAKE UP people....! these are just innocent villages just asked for clean water.

    tamilan Friday, 02 August 2013 06:08 PM

If these animals can treat their own people like this. What can people in North- East can expect from them ?.

    Kaslana Friday, 02 August 2013 05:50 PM

I don't know why some people keep blaming the voters when the voters have lost their democratic right through tyranny and their votes are stolen by those who rig elections to win at whatever cost. Sri Lanka is no worse a banana republic than Zimbabwe.

    limatc Friday, 02 August 2013 05:14 PM

THE RESULT WHAT IS BEEN RECEIVED IS WHAT THOSE WHO SENT TO THE BANK AS THEIR DEPOSITS , NOW IT IS VERY CLEAR TO SRI LANKA AND TO THE WHOLE WORLD , THOSE WHO LEGALLY WIN WILL NEVER DO THIS TYPE OF TYRANNY ACT , IT IS THE PUBLIC LIKE US TO BE BLAMED , NO OTHERS TO BLAME , WHEN WE WILL LEARN A LESSON WHOM TO ELECT TO RULE OVER US , IF WE ARE BAD THEN GOD ALMIGHTY WILL SEND UPON US TYRANNY RULERS TO RULE OVER US .

    Dammika Friday, 02 August 2013 05:04 PM
