The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today directed the CID to inform court of MP Duminda Silva’s whereabouts and asked the CID why Mr. Silva has not been arrested yet. The court directed the CID to give a comprehensive report on Mr. Silva’s present medical condition and to inform the court of any difficulties that have arisen during the investigations.
Colombo District MP Duminda Silva was named as a suspect in the killing former presidential adviser Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and four others. The court had earlier ordered the Police to arrest Duminda Silva and produce him in court.
Mr. Baratha Lakshman’s counsel Tirantha Walaliyadda requested the magistrate to issue a 'Red Warrant' and seek Interpol assistance to arrest the suspect. The next hearing was fixed for the April 16.
