The U.S. embassy issued a statement today condemning the attack on the studios of Siyatha Television and its affiliated radio stations and called for a credible inquiry to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The statement read “This attack, together with the unsolved disappearance of Prageeth Eknaligoda and other acts of violence against the press, serves to intimidate journalists and to further imperil media freedoms in Sri Lanka.  We welcome the announcement of a police investigation since only a credible inquiry will bring the perpetrators to justice.” (Daily Mirror online)

Are there any "credible inquiries" in Sri Lanka? Nothing will come of any inquiry - not even a presidential inquiry.

Lasantha's killers unknown. Eknaligoda's abductors unknown. Poddala Jayantha's attackers unknown. Sirasa attackers unknown. Now Siyatha attackers unknown. Many attackers on different people and organizations went unknown. So, nobody knows who they are. But, when a comment made by a foreign embassy, then we ask them not to interfere with our internal problems. Ok its true, then someone come forward to tell who the attackers are.
