Ceylon Workers Congress Leader and Minister Arumugam Thondaman has tendered his resignation from his ministerial portfolio Monday evening, informed sources said.
However, they said President Mahinda Rajapaksa had not accepted the resignation letter. It is learnt that an issue involving Livestock and Rural Community Development Minister Thondaman and a Ministry official had triggered the move.
Sources confirmed that the Minister had also returned his official vehicle after sending the resignation letter. Mr. Thondaman is also due to discuss the matter with President Mahinda Rajapaksa soon.(YP & AKA)
