More fishermen released

Six Sri Lankan fishermen who were detained in Tamil Nadu have been granted exit permits today and will be arriving in Sri Lanka tomorrow, Deputy Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Chennai Vadivel Krishnamoorthy said. 

“The fishermen were granted exit permits by the authorities today and they will be returning to Sri Lanka by air tomorrow,” he added. Meanwhile, eight Sri Lankan fishing vessels along with 43 fishermen who were detained in Andhra Pradesh will be handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy by the Indian Coast Guard on March 4, 2011.
