Dear Dinesh.. Cost in "QUALITY EDUCATION" is an investment and not mere quantity that we trying to accomodate for the sake of it. Let us be honest, the overall quality of graduates produce by our govt., universities is far below the standards. No wonder parents look for overseas qualification for their kids. Even companies look for overseas qualified graduates.. It's a complex issue need to take appropriate action, but not just by increasing no.s to please a few.

They got the answer but is there a solution. There are thousands of Graduates without jobs first find them employment. How about the facilities to the extra students. Take a pledge from all new under graduates, No Strikes and they will complete their course on time.

Naturally the Government has to increase the budgetary allocation to education as demanded by lecturers.

if they can recruit 4000 students on court order why did not they increase the intake previous years..Are they dumb and blind?

I remember a similar instance during the "Adyapana Siyawasa" in 1970 where a lot of students were later admitted to the universities as the then government accepted that the "Siyawasa Programme" caused those students injustice and on the verge of loosing the opportunity to enter the University.
Increasing the number of students is the best remedy for this kind of sensitive issues with student admission to government universities. Justice prevailed.

There r 14 universities and only 290 plus students per university. This is a manageable number.
Dinithi Monday, 03 September 2012 11:20 AM
Brilliant!! After all the Z-score calamity is a blessing in disguise to students. More students are now taken in !!
Now the government will take credit for this. At least something good has happened to children.
Anthare Pora Monday, 03 September 2012 10:54 AM
How can you take extra 4000+ to universities when the dons are crying for lack of facilities.
saraswathy Monday, 03 September 2012 10:46 AM
